Information for rectors, priests-in-charge, vestries, and bishop's committees:
Completed delegate certificates are to be filed with the diocesan office (Attn: Secretary of Convention) no later than March 15, 2017.
Parishes with incomplete or unfiled information will forfeit the rights of its lay delegates.
If you have any questions about the status of your parish's audit or parochial report, please contact Gabrielle Dubecky at firstname.lastname@example.org or (516) 248-4800 ext. 145.
After the election of lay delegates, please submit the delegate certificate available at this link: 2017 Delegate Certificate.
The number of delegates to which a parish is entitled is calculated on the basis of the number of communicants in good standing as reported on the 2016 Parochial Report:
COMMUNICANTS IN GOOD STANDING
(2016 Parochial Report, page 2/line 3)
0-300 // Elect 1 delegate, 1 alternate
301-500 // Elect 2 delegates, 2 alternates
501 and Above // Elect 3 delegates, 3 alternates
Per our Constitution, lay delegates must physically reside within the bounds of the diocese; per our Canons, Youth Delegates must be under 18 years of age. Please remember to enter the name, address, and date of birth of your youth delegate in the designated area of the certificate or write "none".
Please certify the delegate credentials by signing the certificate where indicated. Improperly completed certificates will be returned, therefore please review the certificate carefully before mailing to the diocesan office.
As certificates are received, they will be recorded here:
Since many parishes elect their delegates as part of their annual elections, we encourage parishes to update the diocesan office with a current list of vestry members and parish administrator at the same time as they complete their Delegate Certificate. The Vestry and Parish Administrator update form is located here: Annual Vestry Update Form.
