Adapt to Change with Diocesan Church Development Institute - REGISTER TODAY!

Dear Colleagues,

The last 18 months have brought unprecedented change requiring us to adapt quickly, in new and challenging ways and it doesn’t look like things are going to slow down or return to our old definition of “normal”. Changes brought about by the pandemic have affected liturgy, our communications processes, technology, operating procedures, roles and responsibilities, and the very rhythm of parish life itself.

The skills, tools, and training that the Diocesan Church Development Institute provides to you and your parish leaders are now more important than ever. DCDI will help you manage change while transforming your congregation, making it healthier, and more deeply rooted in Anglican Spirituality, more responsive to God, and more effective in your community.

The projects that participants complete each year can be adapted to the plans that you already have in place so you get the benefit of new learning and advancing your objectives for the year.

Some of this past year’s projects included:

• Adapting to the safety precautions required for reopening

• Adapting the format of annual meeting to Zoom

• Partnering with other organizations for ministry

• Improving the interpersonal dynamics among the members of a board

DCDI has also adapted to changing conditions and we now offer a hybrid format combining Zoom and in-person learning. We will meet by Zoom during our scheduled Friday dates from 9:00-12:30 and in person on Saturday dates from 9:30-4:00 at the Church of the Ascension in Rockville Center. Many of our content presentations have been videotaped so that they can be viewed at your leisure. During our time together we will focus on practicing DCDI’s models, methods, and tools in group activities.
