Welcoming & Seating of the Ninth Bishop of Long Island

The Diocese of Long Island invites you to the Welcome and Seating of our Ninth Diocesan Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Adam J. Shoemaker. This festive liturgy will take place on Sunday, November 15th at 4:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, New York.

This service marks the formal beginning of Bishop Shoemaker’s public ministry as our diocesan shepherd. The liturgy will feature the formal Recognition by the people, the Investiture of his spiritual and temporal responsibilities, and the taking of his oath of office, and the Seating in the Cathedra (the bishop's chair).

The service will be open for in-person attendance and will be live streamed. Registration information will be available soon.
