Brooklyn Eagle shines a light on North Brooklyn Angels' eight years of “neighbors helping neighbors"

North Brooklyn Angels is featured in the Brooklyn Eagle this week, celebrating eight years of serving meals and compassion to neighbors in need across the borough. Powered by the Angelmobile and an army of dedicated volunteers, the organization continues its mission to fight food insecurity with dignity and care. 

Episcopal Ministries of Long Island provided essential initial funding for North Brooklyn Angels eight years ago. Since then, it has grown into a vibrant, independent ministry sustained by the very community it serves. 

“We started thinking about building a food project that was primarily about bringing newer affluent residents together with long-standing residents to aid their neighbors,” the Rev. John Merz told the Brooklyn Eagle. “That’s why we came up with the tagline ‘neighbors helping neighbors.’”
