The Rt. Rev. Lawrence Provenzano, Bishop of Long Island, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Chris Jubinski as dean of the Peconic Deanery.

Fr. Jubinski, who currently serves as rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Westhampton Beach, and priest-in-charge of Church of the Atonement, Quogue, succeeds the Rev. Canon Charles McCarron, rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Shelter Island.

Canon McCarron has served faithfully as dean of the Peconic Deanery for many years and has requested to step down from this role. In addition to his parish ministry, Canon McCarron continues his vital work as Minister Provincial of the Third Order of Franciscans, a churchwide position involving significant travel, oversight, and leadership in formation and ministry.

Fr. Jubinski brings a wealth of pastoral and ecclesial experience to this new role. Born in Silver City, New Mexico, and raised in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Fr. Jubinski earned his Master of Divinity from The General Theological Seminary in New York City in 1998 and was ordained in the Diocese of Pennsylvania.

Prior to his arrival at St. Mark’s in 2021, he served two historic parishes in the Dioceses of Washington and Easton. He also served in the Dioceses of Los Angeles and Virginia. His leadership has spanned urban and rural communities, coastal parishes, and churches dating back to the 17th century.

In addition to his parish work, Fr. Jubinski is active in the broader community and church life. He serves on the Board of the Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce and the Episcopal Carmel of Saint Teresa, the world’s only Anglican Carmelite monastery. Most recently, in May 2024, he was appointed Priest-in-Charge of the Church of the Atonement, Quogue.

Fr. Jubinski and his wife, Carol, have three grown children and share their home with two beloved beagles. He brings to his new role a deep commitment to collaborative ministry, spiritual growth, and service to the wider community.

“I look forward to working alongside the people of God on the east end as we continue to serve the needs of our local communities and share the Gospel message of hope and peace with the world,” said Dean Jubinski.
