Join the Verger Guild of the Diocese of Long Island on Saturday, November 9th at from 11am to 3pm as it presents its fall workshop day at the cathedral focused on the history, use, and care of the church’s sacred vestments.
The day will kick off with an opportunity for vestment evaluations and consultations, so bring your treasurers to show off, or your heavily used favorites for repair advice! Steven Leavitt of Transfiguration Vestments will then lead us through a brief history of each of the principal vestments used in sacred worship, while Marianna Garthwaite Klaiman will take a closer look at vestment symbolism centered around rebirth and resurrection. Coffee and bagels will be served.
Registration
To register, please email the Dean’s Verger, Kyle Sabo, at ksabo@incarnationgc.org no later than November 2.
