This October, St. George’s Episcopal Church in Bed-Stuy celebrates 156 years of ministry with a week of worship, music, and revival in thanksgiving for our history and in honor of our beloved former rector, Rev. Canon Dr. Glenworth Miles. All events take place at 800 Marcy Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11216.

Schedule of Events

  • Sunday, October 19 | 4–7 PM – Organ Dedication & Evensong
    A special service of Evensong featuring the St. George’s Choir under the direction of R. Steven LeGall, with the dedication of our new Chancel Organ.

  • Monday, October 20 | 7–9 PM – Founders Week Revival Night
    Join us for an evening of revival preaching with guest speaker Rev. Dr. Steve Foster, Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Queens.

  • Wednesday, October 22 | 7–9 PM – Ushers in Attendance
    A celebration honoring the ministry of ushers, with a message from Rev. Dr. Charles Simmons, Priest in Charge of St. Phillip Episcopal Church, Brooklyn.

  • Friday, October 24 | 7–9 PM – Youth Revival Night
    Young people from across the diocese are invited to a dynamic revival service with speaker Chelsy DeHart, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.

  • Sunday, October 26 | 5–8 PM – Organ Dedication Recital
    The dedication of the Rev. Canon Dr. Glenworth Miles Chancel Organ continues with a recital by Dr. Samuel Springer. A native of Barbados, Dr. Springer studied at Trinity College of Music in London, Yale School of Music, and the Peabody Conservatory, and is active as a recitalist, accompanist, and church musician in the Mid-Atlantic region.
