Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church, Cemetery, and Fire Island Ministries in Sayville, NY seeks a Facilities Director to oversee the maintenance, operations, and long-term stewardship of its extensive physical campus.

Designed by renowned architect Isaac H. Green Jr. and rooted in a rich history dating back to 1888, Saint Ann’s is a vibrant, inclusive Episcopal parish serving Suffolk County. The Facilities Director is responsible for planning, oversight, and hands-on leadership of all building systems and grounds across Saint Ann’s north and south campuses, encompassing more than 13 acres. Facilities include the Church, Cemetery, Parish Hall, Saint Barnabas Chapel, Parish Administration Offices, residential properties, and affiliated tenant buildings.

This role oversees custodial and maintenance operations; manages capital improvements; ensures safety, security, inspections, and regulatory compliance; supervises the Sexton; and coordinates with outside contractors and vendors. The Facilities Director co-manages the Cemetery alongside the Cemetery Manager and reports directly to the Presiding Clergy.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or related field
  • Five years of facilities maintenance experience, including three years in a supervisory role
  • Technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance, and construction
  • NYS certifications (HVAC, OSHA, Master Electrician preferred)
  • Experience managing capital projects, budgets, vendors, and contract services
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License; Spanish fluency a plus
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends and be on-call as needed

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily facilities operations, maintenance, and custodial services
  • Developing and overseeing budgets, schedules, and staffing
  • Coordinating logistics for worship services, meetings, rentals, and special events
  • Ensuring compliance with NYS, Suffolk County, Town of Islip, and Cemetery Association regulations
  • Acting as liaison for tenants, vendors, parish staff, and community partners

Salary Range: $60,000 annually
