The Episcopal Diocese of Long Island is pleased to announce the appointment of Lynden Ricardo "Rick" Jolly as the new Director of Facilities, effective September 2025. He succeeds Stuart Newby, who faithfully served the diocese in this role for many years.
As Director of Facilities, Mr. Jolly will oversee the care, management, and stewardship of diocesan properties, including the Cathedral of the Incarnation, the Mercer School of Theology, the See House, clergy residences, and other historic and active-use buildings entrusted to the diocese. His leadership will ensure the safety, functionality, and preservation of sacred, residential, and educational spaces in support of the mission and ministry of the Episcopal Church across Long Island.
Mr. Jolly brings more than a decade of facilities and operations management experience, most recently at the Grand River Casino & Resort in Mobridge, South Dakota. He began his career at the casino as a Maintenance Technician and advanced to leadership roles in information technology, operations, and management, including serving as Acting General Manager overseeing a staff of more than 170 employees.
Alongside his professional career, he has also dedicated his time and skills to the Episcopal Church, serving as Senior Catechist and Warden at St. James Episcopal Church in Mobridge, where he contributed to the care of parish facilities and diocesan events.
Bishop Provenzano welcomed Mr. Jolly to the diocese, saying:
“The stewardship of our sacred spaces is an essential part of our common life and mission. Mr. Jolly brings with him both deep professional expertise and a personal commitment to the life of the Church. I am confident that his leadership will help us care faithfully for the historic and living places of worship, learning, and community entrusted to us. We are grateful for Stuart Newby’s many years of dedicated service, and we welcome Mr. Jolly to this important ministry.”
Mr. Jolly will reside with his wife, Jill, at The Newby Carriage House in Garden City as part of his role and will work closely with the Bishop, the Dean of the Cathedral, and diocesan leadership.
