Closing a Chapter, Opening a Legacy
On May 16 we will gather to honor the Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, DD, Eighth Bishop of Long Island, for 17 years of leadership, dedication, and lasting impact.
Since his consecration in 2009, Bishop Provenzano has been a visionary leader for the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. From the vibrant streets of Brooklyn and Queens to the rural landscapes of Suffolk County, his tenure has been defined by a commitment to progressive activism, institutional revitalization, and inclusive ministry.
As he prepares to conclude his episcopate in September 2026, we invite the clergy, friends, and the beloved people of the diocese to celebrate a legacy built on the reconciling love of God.
Please note: Due to limited seating availability in the Cathedral, in-person attendance is by invitation only. We will open the invitation process soon.
The Eucharist and Ceremony will be available via livestream for all.
