
St. John's of Lattingtown will host, for the first time on Long Island, award-winning choir The Marian Consort on Thursday, February 12th at 7.30 p.m. The Marian Consort, who are described as "amongst the best" and offering "performances [that] are models of discretion and taste", are led by founder and director Rory McCleery, and is distinguished by its flexible and intimate approach, with a clarity of texture and subtlety of interpretation that illuminates the music for performer and audience alike. Performing in the medieval-inspired splendor of St. John’s, the Marian Consort will explore the vibrant musical landscape of 16th-century Rome in a rich program that highlights the interplay of influence and inspiration in works by celebrated figures such as Palestrina, Josquin, and Victoria, alongside hidden gems.
