On October 29, 2026, members from across the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island gathered in person at the Mercer School of Theology and online via Zoom for the annual Pre-Convention Meeting. Guided by this year’s convention theme, “One Body, Many Members,” the meeting served as an opportunity for clergy, lay delegates, and parishioners to review key business items ahead of the 160th Diocesan Convention.
During the session, diocesan leaders presented important operational logistics, reviewed canonical amendments and proposed resolutions, and introduced nominees for leadership positions and committee seats. Participants also received an overview of the proposed 2027 Ministry Plan (the budget), including details on clergy and lay compensation guidelines, upcoming financial communication timelines, and parish assessment structures.
