Episcopal Ministries of Long Island (EMLI) and the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island are honored to announce that our short-form video, Micah Breakfast Ministry at St. Barnabas, Brooklyn, has received an Award of Excellence in the 2026 Polly Bond Awards for Excellence in Episcopal Church Communications, the top honor in the Short-Form Video category.

The video was produced by Teddy Byrne, Communication and Video Production Manager for the Diocese of Long Island, in collaboration with Jack Smith, Communication & Marketing Manager for Episcopal Ministries of Long Island, for EMLI's 2025 Celebration of Ministry.

It tells the story of the Micah Community Breakfast, a lay-led Saturday morning ministry at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in East New York. This vital program serves over 75 guests weekly, many of whom depend on it as their only meal of the day.

The Polly Bond Awards, presented annually by Episcopal Communicators, recognize outstanding work in church communications across 20 categories. This year's winners were judged by communications professionals from outside the Episcopal Communicators' membership.
