Sunnyside, NY — The Episcopal Mission in Sunnyside will launch regular weekly services and programming on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 10 am. The launch will be marked by a celebratory worship service and community gathering, signaling a new phase in the Mission’s presence in the neighborhood.
The Mission has spent the past year hosting experimental and community-driven events designed to explore fresh expressions of Christian life and service. Beginning in September, it will introduce a consistent schedule of Sunday worship, intergenerational programming, and neighborhood events, while continuing to adapt and respond to community needs.
“With this launch, we’re building on the practices of renewal, curiosity, and hope that have shaped our first year together,” said Father Carl Adair. “We look forward to welcoming neighbors of all backgrounds to join us as we begin this next chapter—because we want to be a blessing to this whole neighborhood.”
The Episcopal Mission in Sunnyside is rooted in the Christian tradition and emphasizes community practice—coming together for worship, reflection, service, and the arts. It seeks to create an inclusive environment where people from diverse backgrounds can connect, contribute, and flourish.
The Mission continues the legacy of All Saints Episcopal Church in Sunnyside, which served the neighborhood from 1928 until its closure in 2020. By drawing from this history while embracing new models of community life, the Mission aims to provide a place of belonging and renewal for the Sunnyside area.
The public is invited to attend the launch celebration starting at 10 am on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and to participate in ongoing weekly services and programs thereafter.
