As the Rt. Rev. Bill Franklin prepares to step down as Assisting Bishop on Saturday, he shares a farewell message with the people of the Diocese of Long Island.
Reflecting on his seven years of ministry, Bishop Franklin expresses his deep gratitude for the clergy, staff, and parish communities across Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. From his teaching at the Mercer School of Theology to ecumenical partnerships and multicultural worship across the diocese, his leadership has left a lasting impact on our shared life of faith.
While concluding his tenure as Assisting Bishop, Bishop Franklin will remain active in the church. He will continue writing and teaching at Mercer and Union Theological Seminary, and will serve as the new Bishop-in-Residence at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity in Brooklyn Heights.
