Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I write today to ask your prayers following the death of the Rev. Erika Meyer, who entered the nearer presence of our Lord yesterday, Tuesday, July 14. As we commend her to God's eternal care, we also give thanks for her faithful priestly ministry and the many lives she touched through her compassion, wisdom, and steadfast faith.

Erika faithfully served the Church for more than three decades following her ordination to the priesthood in 1995 in the Diocese of Michigan. A graduate of the University of Michigan, she earned her Master of Divinity degree from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California.

Before joining Grace Church, Brooklyn Heights, in 2018 as Associate Rector for Pastoral Care and Community Life, Erika served for sixteen years as rector of congregations in both rural Colorado and midtown Manhattan.

In the words of her colleagues at Grace Church, "Her ministry was driven by faith, loss, and the grieving process and the use of scripture, song, and testimony to strengthen our desire to serve the Kingdom of God and follow Jesus."

Erika is survived by her husband, Paul Marinaccio, and their children, Johan Hedlund and Tai Marinaccio.

Please keep Paul, Johan, Tai, the people of Grace Church, and all who mourn in your prayers. Information regarding funeral arrangements will be shared as it becomes available.

Rest eternal grant to her O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Faithfully,
