Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
The people and Diocese of Jamaica and The Cayman Islands are in urgent need of our help following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa, which struck on October 28 and brought significant destruction to the region.
We are in close contact with the office of Bishop Leon P. Golding and have assured them of our prayers and continued support.
I write to ask that you join me in responding to this humanitarian crisis. I am requesting that each parish take up a special offering as soon as possible, with all proceeds directed to relief efforts for the Diocese of Jamaica and The Cayman Islands.
Please make all checks payable to “The Episcopal Diocese of Long Island” and send them to:
Office of Stewardship
The Episcopal Diocese of Long Island
36 Cathedral Avenue

For any inquiries, please contact Camlyn Gravesande at cgravesande@dioceseli.org.
Thank you for answering the call to serve and to relieve human suffering in Christ’s name.
And please continue to hold the people of Jamaica in your prayers throughout the coming weeks and months of recovery.
Faithfully,

The Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano
Bishop of Long Island
